Important features of the Green Lip Mussel
- The Greenlip Mussel is a potent source of Omega 3 fatty acids including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosatetraenoic acid (ETA). These Omega 3s have been linked to a wide range of health benefits including joint, heart, eyes, skin, and brain health. EPA and DHA can be found in sunflower oil, linseed oil and cod liver oil, which are widely used by horse owners to add essential fatty acids into the equine diet. ETAs are only found in the Green Lipped Mussel.
- A natural anti-inflammatory, backed up by years of research, the Green Lip Mussel has been shown to contain a number of omega-3 series fatty acids of which there are 4 eicosatetraenoic acids (ETAs) which are unique to GLM. These 20 carbon 4 double-bonded structures have been shown to exert significant anti-inflammatory activity in scientific tests which explains the positive health benefits of GreenLip Mussel in maintaining joint mobility.
- Best known for its benefits in supporting joint health, the Greenlip Mussel contains a range of chondroprotective nutrients, including glycosaminoglycans (GAGS) and chondroitin sulphate which make up the building blocks of joint structure and work alongside the anti-inflammatory ETA Omega 3s.
